Inspire Community Outreach- Saturday Showcase

This week Makers Move is going to be doing something a little different. We will be Showcasing a local Non-Profit Organization that sells local handmade items as part of their fundraising efforts.

Inspire Community Outreach Inc. is an incorporated non-profit social services agency focused on working with youth in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Their goal is to guide youth to find out their passion while create connections that will last a life-time.

"We create Exceptional Programs for Exceptional Youth!"

Mission: To support the mental health of youth, children and their families

Vision Statement: Our Vision is a community that empowers children, youth and families to experience and to support these groups in recognizing their strengths, resources, potential and overall well being.

Purpose:

  • To provide culturally sensitive, family focused and child focused programming designed to meet the needs of those living with mental health issues and other developmental challenges.
  • To provide affordable education and programming to support youth at risk
  • To provide families with appropriate resources and networking opportunities to support their needs
  • To work collaboratively with community agencies in a consultation role
  • Provide opportunities for children and youth to empower their lives through education and support in group work.

Although Inspire Community Outreach Inc. is a non-profit social service agency, they have volunteer artists who create amazing pieces for them to sell. Often at 100% profit!

Current items are:

Succulent gardens (Large plants donated by Sage Garden Herbs).
Hand sewn hemp infinity scarves, dyed by Over the Rainbow.
Rainbow Chakra silk scarves/play silks dyed by Over the Rainbow.
Tree of life pendants made with Kirsten Ireland Designs.

.....and so so much more.

Profits raised go towards creating programs for youth in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The hope is that these youth will find their passion and create connections that will last a life-time. There are a variety of programs including drop-ins. The Outreach uses a strengths-based approach while teaching skill building programs.

A few Programs that can be found at Inspire Community Outreach include: mindfulness training, creative expression (such as art, poetry, and music), cooking/nutrition, physical activity, and other positive coping strategies.

What is Makers Move Manitoba?

Makers Move Manitoba was created by 2 proud Manitobans, Mandy Johnston and Brandy Sylvestre.

We wanted to create a platform to showcase the MANY incredibly talented makers and shakers, located right here in our amazing Province while fostering a community of like-minded people who know the value and importance in shopping local and supporting small business.

We are passionate about connecting local artisans, hand-makers, crafters, and farmers with each other as well as a new stream of local customers and admirers.
In order to ensure that we do our best to spread the word of this fabulous community, we have developed a presence on both Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter; Please be sure to check them out and like and share them to help us continue to grow the community.
